- Speed Camp: Wednesday, March 23, 3:30-5:30 Craftsbury March 22, 2016All, Craftsbury is holding a camp tomorrow that sounds amazing. With the short Wednesday schedule at the schools, this might actually work for avid skiers who haven’t started another sport yet.
From Craftsbury:
Calling all skiers from ages 6-18: clear your calendars for tomorrow, Wednesday, after school at 3:30 p.m., and come on up to the Craftsbury Outdoor Center for an afternoon Speedcamp with Simi Hamilton, Ben Saxton, Noah Hoffman, Erik Bjornsen, Paddy Caldwell and others. They’ll be covering technique, cornering, downhills and transitions – all areas you can grab some seconds in a race to recover, close a gap, or make your move on competitors. Besides, skiing faster is always FUN! Grab your skate skis, boots, poles and some water, and get ready for an afternoon of ripping around on skis!
Could be great!

- 2015/16 Wrap Up & Program Survey for 2&3 Day Program March 15, 2016
Dear 2&3 Day Families,
We truly enjoyed celebrating with so many of you at the banquet last night. Your food was DELICIOUS (love the healthy AND delicious options that nordic families choose to make) and the sense of community was palpable. We feel very fortunate to be part of this dedicated, warm and caring group of families.
Thank you all for your very generous gift to Peter and me. Peter and I love having an excuse to eat good food with a glass of good wine, so we will take full advantage of the Simon Pearce gift card and will make sure to raise a toast to Ford Sayre families as we sit overlooking the beautiful falls in Quechee!
For those not in attendance last night, Peter’s and my 3-year tenure is over and we bid the program adieu. We are passing the Program Head reins on to Jane Phipps. Jane has two avid skiers in the program will do an outstanding job with her strong organizational skills, her ever-present smile and her commitment to the program. When you see her, please join us in thanking her for taking this position on.
END OF THE YEAR SURVEY – We need your feedback!
Click HERE to complete our end of the year survey!!! We want to hear about your delights, your disappointments, and your suggestions for making things better. We will use your feedback to set our goals for next season and to understand how to improve our program. Last year our program had a 60% response rate. This year, we challenge you to beat that number!
What does it take?
- The survey should take less than 5 minutes to complete!
- Survey responses are anonymous (unless you want to add your name so we can follow-up) and responses will be read and summarized only by the Chair of the Ford Sayre Nordic Committee, Margaret Rightmire.
WHAT’S NEXT?
Aside from a few survey reminders and special notices regarding summer opportunities, e-mail communication will resume in early fall as we close in on ski swaps and the opening of the 2016-2017 program registration. Thank you again for a fantastic season on the snow, ice and grass!

Dear 1-day a week families,
THANK YOU!
On behalf of our coaching team, thank you for a wonderful season! It was a pleasure to spend time outdoors with your children this year and to welcome so many new families to the Ford Sayre nordic community! Your children brought so much positive energy to our program!
Thank you to the MANY volunteers that made our 1-day program so special. In particular, I want to thank my other lead coaches (Tracy, Kirsten, Susan, and Helena), our 35 assistant coaches, and the many volunteers who helped with sign-in, KAST, snacks, hot chocolate, and other activities! This program is not possible without the support of these parents and community members!
