Ford Sayre’s Junior Nordic Team (JNT) athlete Lea Perreard, 15, placed first in the nation in the U16 women’s 5K freestyle nordic ski event today at Mt. Van Hoevenberg in Lake Placid, NY.
Fresh snow and gusty winds added to the challenge of Van Hovenbergs steep climbs and fast descents.
Sarah Gleuck, 17, competed in the U18/U20 women’s 7.5K, placed 9th out of 100 U18 athletes, and was named an All American.
Two Ford Sayre athletes competed in the men’s U18/U20 men’s 7.5K: James Underwood, 17, placed 13th among U18 men and Caleb Zuckerman, 18, placed 31st in the U20 category.
